How should acne applications be used?

Topical treatments should be applied to clean skin. If the skin is moist the irritant effect of topicals will be enhanced so it is probably best, if possible, to wait ten or fifteen minutes after washing before applying your lotions or gels, or to ensure at least that you have dried your skin thoroughly. It is certainly advisable to wait about ten minutes after washing before applying tretinoin. It is also advisable to apply it at least half an hour before going to bed to minimise spreading to the corners of the mouth and eyelids, which are more easily irritated. Bed-time is usually a good time to apply any topical treatment designed to be used only once daily. It is also the best time to apply tretinoin because of its sun sensitising potential. Most topical preparations are not highly visible on the skin, so can be worn during the day and applied under make-up.

Make-up and moisturisers in acne

Most young acne suffers have excessively oily skin, making the routine use of moisturisers unnecessary. Dryness and irritation should not be a problem if you start with lower strengths of topicals and build up to greater strengths, allowing the skin to adjust gradually. Sometimes alternateday treatments are appropriate if your skin is very sensitive.

Unfortunately, when dryness and irritation from topical treatments become a problem, some women undo all the good work by using the wrong types of moisturiser. Oily moisturisers only aggravate acne by clogging pores and encouraging blackhead formation. Oil-free moisturisers can be used if dry skin becomes a problem. Likewise oil-free foundations should be used. Excellent oil-free make-ups are available which are suitable for acne patients and give good matt coverage.

Oral Antibiotics for Acne

May 17th, 2008 proactive acne Posted in Acne Products, Acne Remedy, Acne Removal, ache solution, ache solutions, acnes olution, acnesolution, ance solution, ane solution Comments Off

Oral antibiotics like tetracycline do not work quickly against acne as they do against sore throats and earaches. It may take three to six weeks before your face shows any improvement. Eventually, you will have fewer pimples and reduced inflammation.

Occasionally, acne bacteria develop a resistance to tetracycline, which explains why some people fail to respond to it. This was revealed by Dr. Fredric Haberman, a dermatologist at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City.

The most common side effects of tetracycline are diarrhea, discoloration of the nails, dizziness, nausea, stomach cramps, loss of appetite or vomiting. Consumer Guide’s “Prescription Drugs” said these usually disappear as your body adjusts to the medication.

What you should worry about are major side effects which include darkened tongue, difficulty in breathing, joint pain, mouth irritation, rash, rectal or vaginal itching, unusual bleeding or yellowing of the eyes and skin. These should be reported to a doctor.

To make the most out of your medicine, Consumer Guide suggests the following:

Ideally, this medication should be taken on an empty stomach one hour before or two hours after a meal. It should be taken with a full glass of water in order to avoid irritating the throat or esophagus (swallowing tube). If this drug causes stomach upset, however, you can take it with food (unless your doctor directs you to do otherwise).

Avoid consuming dairy products (milk, cheese, etc.) with¬in two hours of any dose of this drug. Avoid taking antacids and laxatives that contain aluminum, calcium, or magnesium within an hour or two of a dose.

Avoid taking any medication containing iron within three hours of a dose. These products chemically bind tetracycline in the stomach and gastrointestinal tract, preventing the drug from being absorbed into the body.

Tetracycline works best when the level of medicine in your bloodstream is kept constant. It is best, therefore, to take the doses at evenly spaced intervals day and night. For example, if you are to take four doses a day, the doses should be spaced six hours apart.

It is important to continue to take this medication for the entire time prescribed by your doctor, even if the symptoms disappear before the end of that period. If you stop taking the drug too soon, resistant bacteria are given a chance to continue growing, and the infection could recur.

Be sure to tell your doctor if you are pregnant or if you are breastfeeding an infant. Tetracycline crosses the placenta and passes into breast milk. If used during tooth development, this drug can cause permanent discoloration. It can also inhibit tooth and bone growth in the fetus. It should not be used for infants or for children less than eight years of age.

Will A Colon Cleanse Help Acne?

May 17th, 2008 proactive acne Posted in Acne Cleanser, acen solution, ache solution, ache solutions, acme solution, back acne solutions, best acne solution, best acne solutions Comments Off

A large number of people-not only teenagers-suffer from acne, and there are many products out there that claim to be the miracle cure. So will a colon cleanse actually help to clear up acne? The problem might be deeper than finding a miracle drug. In order to understand this embarrassing issue, we must first delve into what causes acne.

It’s a common fact that the body has to rid itself of waste on a continuous basis to function properly. The organ charged with this duty is the colon. If the colon is dirty, it won’t do the job right, and all the waste won’t be released. When that happens, more waste is sent through the skin, which in turn blocks pores, resulting in acne and other dermatological issues.

Since the colon needs to be in tip-top shape to avoid this problem, the next step is a colon cleanse if that hasn’t been thought of already. This will be more effective than taking acne medications because it will get at the root of the problem. There are many ways of doing this, and a stated benefit, among others, of the colon cleanse is clearer skin.

Herbal remedies have worked to clean the colon, and they are more natural than taking drugs with harsh chemicals or dangerous side effects. Cleansing the colon rids the body of fecal matter and other toxins that have built up on the colon, causing it to work improperly, possibly leading to malfunctions in other organs, such as the kidneys. So this is more than a cosmetic issue. Other ways of obtaining a cleaner colon include colonic hydrotherapy or irrigation, altering the diet to include more fiber and water, and increasing sleep and exercise.

The Top 3 Natural Remedies To Get Rid of Acne Quickly and Effectively

May 16th, 2008 proactive acne Posted in Acne Cleanser, Acne Remedy, Articles, ache solution, ache solutions, acne gel, acne olution, acne oslution, acnesolution, ance solution, neutrogena advanced solutions, prescription acne, pro active acne, solutions for acne Comments Off

If you have acne, no matter how severe it is, you might be scouring all over the Internet trying to look for the best ways to get rid of acne. But you don’t have to do like that. You just need to know some methods that really are tried and tested to be very effective on acne and concentrate your acne treatment on those methods. Why bother trying out some unknown methods with unknown effectiveness? This article will show you the top 3 natural remedies to cure acne.

Tea Tree Oil

Before anything else, I would like to let you know that most branded and popular products out there on the market use benzoyl peroxide as their main active ingredient. The reason benzoyl peroxide is so popular among those manufacturers is because benzoyl peroxide really works. But based on my experience, tea tree oil is even far superior than benzoyl peroxide as a topical solution for acne. Tea tree oil, when applied, effectively kills those bacterias that cause acne.

Tea tree oil does not cause any negative side effects and is also very cheap. Everyone can afford to own a small bottle of tea tree oil to treat their acne.

Carrots

Carrots can really help in your acne condition. One reason for this is that carrot contains a high amount vitamin A. The lack of this vitamin alone can already cause a very severe acne. When you get more vitamin A, you can also treat your acne regardless of its severity. The world’s most powerful acne treating medication, Accutane, is actually derived from vitamin A, but it brings along the many side effects that may haunt its users over the long haul, which makes it less good a choice for some people. In this case, because we want the benefits of vitamin A on acne without the nasty side effects, we can eat more carrots.

Detoxification

Detoxification is by far the best acne treating solution. When detoxification is done correctly, your body’s immune system is improved. The end result of this is reduced amount of acne. Detoxification also helps in regulating the secretion of hormone androgen, which in turn controls the production of oil to the skin. By removing the toxins from your body, you are also preventing acne breakouts since the skin is actually one of the detoxifying organs.

Getting rid of acne is easy if you just know what works and what works not. If I tell you that it is possible to cure your acne in just two months, without spending any money on medical treatment and products, would you believe me? The root cause of acne has long been speculated by Scientists. Bacterium is not the root cause of acne, but rather an unclear inflammatory deficiency. There are some products in the market that treat light cases of acne, but this does not mean that the skin decease can’t get worse.

Acne is not caused by bacterial infection, but bacteria does play a part in making the situation worse. Propionibacteria are microbes that are part of the skin. It keeps the skin from being invaded by other harmful bacteria.

P. acnes will grow within the blocked pore or follicle if they are clogged. Bacteria will produce chemicals that alter the composition of the oil, which makes the skin more irritated and create inflammation.

Acne can change from minor to difficult stages

Acne symptoms are characterized by non-inflammatory and inflammatory. A small number of blackheads and whiteheads on the face are normally provoked by non-inflammatory acne. These symptoms are caused by a quite light form of acne and can therefore be treated with products bought over-the-counter. This is normally an acne treatment for minor forms of acne, but does not prevent the possible development towards more difficult stages.

Inflammatory acne occurs when whiteheads become inflamed pimples and pus develop. Inflammatory acne can develop into a large cyst that can erupt and cause disfiguration of the cutis. Some of the consequences acne causes are deep pitting scars on the face, back, neck and just bout any other place of the body. Heal skin lesions caused by acne can be more complicated for severe stages of acne.

Researchers have newly discovered that acne vulgaris is set off due to a non-specific inflammatory response of our natural immune system to a stimulus.

Deficiency is due to lacking essential fatty acids (Linoleic acid) in the sebaceous glands, because of a dilution effect of an over-production of sebum. The lacking fatty acids lead to a perturbation of the barrier function within individual follicles and induces the release of Cytokines from keratinocytes.

Cytokines are pro-inflammatory proteins part of our natural essence. They are significant components of the immune system that perform as inter cellular mediators.

Cytokines can generate an inflammatory cascade that leads to connective tissue destruction by stimulating the creation of prostaglandis and collagen enzymes. Inflammation occurs therefore prior to and behave as casual factors in the hyper-proliferative changes contemplated in acne wounds, as opposed to secondary consequential events.

Acne Vulgaris should be characterized as an inflammatory skin disorder as opposed to keratinocyte/ hyper-proliferative disorder.

Research has proven that topical solutions, with the correct elements, have efficient outcomes when treating all types of acne as well as effectively diminishing scars.

Researchers have found that acne vulgaris is not caused by bacteria but rather a non-specific inflammatory response of our natural immune system to a stimulus. Inflammatory reactions can create the development of acne in all stages and result, in some cases, with difficult scarring on the areas affected. It is crucial to find a product that will help your body to keep the right balance of components necessary to prevent this from occurring.

BIOSKINCARE will help your dermis with a natural acne treatment that will moisturize, clean and prevent you from unwanted skin problems. This product will also aid to get rid of unflattering cicatrizes and smoothen out your cutis.

Laser Acne Treatments - A Permanent Solution To Acne Scars

For many acne sufferers, facial acne scarring is just as unbearable as the skin condition itself. Acne laser treatments give you a chance to reverse the effects of the pimples and enjoy clear healthy skin. Many techniques are now available to treat different types of scarring in different ways.

Acne laser treatments are generally used for patients who suffer with a severe case of acne. This type of treatment uses a high concentration of light or radio waves treat acne by increasing collagen production, remove to surface layers of the skin, or killing the oil producing glands on the skin’s surface. Although these treatments can be expensive and require several visits, they are considered permanent.

There are two main types of laser acne treatments:

1. Ablative laser treatments

The laser equivalent of a chemical peel, this method uses short pulses of light to precisely burn away at the surface of the skin. As the skin heals, it returns smooth and soft and often with less wrinkles and smaller pores. The Er:YAG laser removes the skins surface by projecting concentrated streams of light into the water molecules in your skin.

This type of laser is used specifically on patients who have scarring with no new outbreaks. Effective on pitted or indented scars, the CO2 laser eliminates the skin’s surface layer by layer and carries a lower set of risks and side effects. It forces the skin to restructure itself, but it also softens the tissue of older scars.

2. Non-Ablative laser treatments

These lasers, which include the Nd:YAG laser and the Fraxel laser, eliminate scars and kill oil glands from the inside rather than destroying away at the skin’s surface. Known as a non-wounding laser, they are projected along under the skin to improve the tension and tone of the skin while improving collagen growth.

Originally used as a hair removal technique and for etching glass, the Nd:YAG (Neodymium: Yttrium-Aluminum-Garnet) laser involves less risks than its higher energy partner Er:YAG laser. It is most effective on newer, shallow scars. Fraxel laser treatment is also best on indented acne scars. It eliminates the chance of having the acne spread and can be used on small selective areas.

Laser treatments carry their own set of side effects and health risks. As a general rule, the more aggressive the laser treatment and the more treatments you have, your chance of experiencing side effects increases. Mild side effects such red, tender, and sensitive skin as well as swelling are common and can last up to two weeks after a treatment. Unfortunately, side effects that are more serious are also possible. Some patients do experience hyper-pigmentation, burns, crusting, scarring, and infection.

So there you go.

Laser acne treatment is an expensive and serious permanent solution for acne and acne scars. It might take up to 18 months to see the end result, but for most people dealing with severe acne, it is well worth it. A specialized physician will be able to help you choose the right type of laser treatment that is most beneficial to you.

Vitamin for Acne

Some of the best supplements for treating acne are vitamins. These are essential nutrients that the body must have from external sources, i.e. food or supplements, in order to operate efficiently. Here is a quick summary of what your body needs in order to stay acne free…

Beta Carotene - Vitamin A

Beta carotene is an antioxidant that is the precursor to vitamin A, known to effectively help clear acne. Beta carotene is sourced from vegetables and can be taken as a supplement. The strong acne drug accutane is derived from vitamin a, yet has negative side effects. Beta carotene is the natural source of vitamin a, and is absorbed better than regular vitamin a.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant that is proven to maintain optimal skin health by destroying free radicals in cells. It also has a proven healing action on acne scars. As vitamin e is fat soluble, you do need some fat in your diet to absorb the nutrient. This means you should take vitamin e with your main evening meal, which generally contains the most fat.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C improves the action of vitamin e and beta carotene, and is also an antioxidant, although this time is water soluble. Vitamin C promotes properly hydrated skin and clean cells free of damaging agents that cause acne at the cellular level. Chromium can improve the action of vitamin c so is worth taking with the vitamin c for enhanced performance.

If you wanted to know what is the best vitamin for acne, then these three; vitamin a, vitamin e and vitamin c is your answer.
