Acne is one seriously annoying condition. It defines who we are when we are teenagers. (I was called ‘zitter’ all through high school). I finally got my acne cleared this year, after using great alternative approaches to making acne disappear. I guess, it was not meant to be because nature gave me a whip lash in the form of acne scarring. So I went around and read some more on how to prevent and clear acne scarring.
The main effects of acne on the homeostatic balance (the sum of fluids and gases in our internal environment) of our bodies, is that we acne suffers have less Vitamin A and Vitamin E. This two vitamins go along way in helping to restore the elasticity and natural ‘shine’ of our bodies skin. Therefore tip one, take more carrots, pumpkin, pawpaw and avocado.
On our way forward when clearing acne, skin drying agents are used. This creates the wrinkles and sagging that is associated with acne scarring. An easy way to restore this ‘fleshiness’ is to drink lots of water. Water can’t hurt you. It will also help in washing our toxins that have accumulated in the rights against acne. Once your proper water level is reached, a glow to your skin will be noticeable. Therefore tip two, drink at least a liter and a half of water a day.
If you still have acne, or occasionally break out here and there but do not want scarring to take another year to be cleared, this is what you should do. NEVER burst pimples. Doing this will not only leave your skin open for greater and additional re-infection, but will also leave a scar that will take eons to heal. Just place a layer of toothpaste on the pimple before you go to bed. In the morning it will simply fall off as you wash your face. Tip three, therefore, is being careful with those pimples and if you do it right there will not be any scarring to deal with in any case, will there?
After suffering from acne, I wished upon a star that I could be able to just peel off my face and start over. This is entirely possible. You will have to visit a dermatologist though. There are two kinds of peels: Chemical and mechanical. In the former, a cream will be applied onto your face and washed about an hour later. You will need to be extremely hygienic in the next two weeks as your epidermal layer rejuvenates itself. In the later, one may use laser toning or dermal abrasion via a diamond tipped brush. Both will be painful and local anesthesia will be administered. This should only be done by a qualified and trained dermatologist. Tip four, then is to visit your dermatologist or GP when you have to.
I discovered after years of reading that I can induce my skin to peel using naturally occurring products. This should however be done with lots of caution. Take a lemon and squeeze out its contents into a basin with luke-warm water. Add a few drops of rose essence and apply onto your face for about half an hour. Later on use slices of Aloe Vera to cool the itching sensation that the lemon may have produced. In about a week or two your face will be completely brand new.
