Acne affects over 15 million people in the U.S. alone but yet there is a lot you can do to cure it. First of all it is important to figure out what type of skin you have so that you are able to treat your specific skin type. Figuring out what kind of skin you have and what your problem areas are is imperative to curing your acne. You can simply guess based on whether you think your skin is oily, dry or combination.
Once you know your skin type you can set out to find a cleanser, a toner and a moisturizer for your type. To get rid of bacteria wash your face twice a day with a facial cleanser designed for your skin type. Use a gentle toner on your skin two times each day will also cut down on oil and bacteria. It’s important to use a moisturizer designed for your skin type as well. If you have combination skin you may consider putting less moisturizer on parts of your skin that are oilier. Depending on your skin type using a mask especially one made for acne once each week may also be beneficial. You may consider using topical antibiotics or over the counter products for acne treatment as well. Now that you have your cleanser, toner, moisturizer and a mask to keep up your acne treatment you will need to get into a routine. One way is to do your acne treatment before you go to bed and when you wake up.
To detoxify and cleanse your pores be sure to drink at least 64 ounces of water each day. As part of your acne treatment eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily to be sure you are getting enough fiber and vitamins each day. Eating enough fiber will also help your body get rid of toxins. Exercise is also great for your skin as it helps with the cleansing process because it makes you sweat thus cleaning out your pores. There are some supplements that have been proven to cure acne including: Vitamin B6, Vitamin A and Zinc. Avoiding substances such as alcohol, caffeine, drugs, and fatty foods can also decrease acne. While it can be challenging to get into a routine it will surely pay off soon once you begin to see your radiant skin coming through.
